Keyboardist and singer Mookie Siegel performs with the David Nelson Band – a band he co-founded in 1994 featuring David Nelson, Barry Sless (Phil Lesh and Friends), Pete Sears (Jefferson Starship) and John Molo (Bruce Hornsby and the Range).  Nelson co-founded the seminal 70′s psychedelic cowboy band, the New Riders of the Purple Sage along with Jerry Garcia and other members of the Grateful Dead.  Currently, Mookie continues to perform with the David Nelson Band and the New Riders of the Purple Sage as well as Mark Karan and Jemimah Puddleduck, and Ghosts of Electricity. Other notable San Francisco bay area artists Mookie has toured with are Bob Weir and Ratdog, Phil Lesh and Friends, Kingfish, Donna Jean Godchaux, the Rowan Brothers and Steve Kimock.
